Just a quick note to let the community know what I am working on for upcoming speakers.
First, we get ALOT of submissions from people that want to come and speak. However, it is still very challenging because we are really selective toward the mission of their being neutral and on a topic that is of interest to the community. Most of the time, I am busy proactively seeking speakers that I know have requisite skills and are in line with the topic requests I’ve received.
APRIL: Finally, after many requests, we will have an expert come in to talk about multi-factor authentication. With many of the breaches we are seeing having an element of credential exploitation, its long overdue. This will take a neutral view of the variety of methods, their functional use case comparisons, and how they map toward different environments, goals and intensity of cost and resources. Will range from one-time password devices to PKI and hard tokens, to biometrics.
May: Speaker will come to talk to us about evaluating various cloud services. As cloud proliferates and lack continuity across standards, this talk will focus on how to best scrutinize external service offerings to discover the differences between them and gap analysis between your internal policies.
Still working on June and beyond. Please let e know if you have any suggestions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
